It's for an NCIS fic. So, in the episode "Twisted Sister" we see that McGee has written a book, basically about NCIS where all the characters in it are the characters in NCIS disguised.

And me? I want to read this book. Unfortunately, this book doesn't exist. But I could totally see myself writing it...

This is just to help get my groove back.

As most of you know, I'm not a huge fan of Twilight. This essay-thing was spawned over at twilight_sucks as we discussed the Doctor/Rose age difference vs. the Bella/Edward age difference.

On first glance, Bella and Rose seem to have had pretty much the same kind of life before they met their significant others. Both lived with a single parent, both were relatively normal and boring, both were teenagers, etc. The same goes with their lives after they meet the men of their dreams: they suddenly weren't normal anymore, their entire world was changed...you get the picture.

Title: One Good Day

Genre: This is painfully angsty.

Summary: The events of "Turn Left" are unchangeable, and Rose is unable to comprehend it.
Notes: AU. Rose never started to cross parallel universes, and thus this takes place a little after the Runaway Bride (but time moves faster in the parallel world, so Rose has been there for a while). The Doctor is dead, and Martha and Donna never traveled with him. I don't think I've ever written anything this angsty before, but I read the latest chapter of Ai Yazawa's Nana, and I had to write something like it to ease my pain (and hopefully, Nana's).

Summary: Instead of simply being a copy of the tenth Doctor, Rose's human Doctor looks like the ninth, and she questions as to how she feels about that.
Notes: 2479 words. I feel that because 10.5 looks just like 10, Rose wouldn’t be able to get over the fact that they’re the same but different. But since 10.5 in this looks and acts essentially the same as 9, I think that Rose has a lot easier time adjusting, just like she did in The Christmas Invasion. I see this as a counterbalance or an AU to my ever so angsty Foundations fic. I might write a second part where they do domestic. A response to isiscaughey's challenge.
