"Turn Left," as I've stated before, is probably my favorite series four episode. It's not just the return of Rose, it's the entire package. Donna is also completely brilliant in this episode, and I think it's the best exploration of her character in the entire series. I did miss the Doctor, but the greatness of the episode made the fact that it was a Doctor-lite episode okay.
I also think the Rose in this episode is my favorite version of her. Nothing she did in the episode got on my nerves. She was awesome and totally cool, and a lot more grown up. I loved that. Not that I didn't love S1 or S2 Rose, but I really really love "Turn Left" Rose.
I could go into great and boring detail as to how much I completely adore this episode, but I don't actually feel like it xD. I know, it's awful, but I just wanted to put this out there:
How
cool is it that Bad Wolf from S1 saw into the future and left a message for the Doctor in S4 (a Doctor that Rose at that point had never even met). How cool is that! I just love the connection, it makes me squeal fangirlishly.
Also, now that I'm thinking about it...Bad Wolf!Rose was still Rose, right? And she could see the whole of time and space, so she probably saw the events at the end of S2, and she probably saw the Doctor's death in "Turn Left." And crap, she probably saw his entire past, and the future that we haven't seen yet. And she probably saw that the Ninth Doctor was going to die within the next fifteen minutes. It's just so...poetic (that's the only word I can really use right now, I think) that she's crying. She sees all that, and more. And it's killing her.
I love that scene. (It's really inspiring me to write something...)
I just think the Bad Wolf connection between S1 and S4 is so cool.
